18 Mar PORTUGAL, 210 MW SOLAR PV PROJECT COMISSIONED

The Escalabis Solar Park, a greenfield development by Gesto that started in 2017 was finally connected to the electric grid last week. The 210MWp power plant, currently owned by NextPower III ESG (“NPIII ESG”) and NextPower III Co-Investment, is one of the largest solar PV power plants developed by Gesto. The project will sell electricity through a long term PPA signed with Statkraft.

About the project The project, visible from the main Portuguese highway A1 that connects Lisbon to Porto, is in the municipalities of Cartaxo (in the parishes of Vila Chã de Ourique and União de Freguesias do Cartaxo and Vale da Pinta) and Santarém (parish of Almoster), over an area of more than 400 hectares. All energy produced by the Escalabis Solar Park will be delivered to REN’s Santarém substation.
