São Tomé and Príncipe, 4 November 2024
From October 22 to 25, Gesto proudly participated as a key speaker in the second workshop organized by the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) in São Tomé, São Tomé and Príncipe. The workshop focused on IPP procurement and the negotiation of critical project documents, with a special emphasis on hydro renewable energy projects.
Gesto’s presentation centered on the negotiation and structuring of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and ancillary agreements, offering insights to enhance the region’s capacity to advance sustainable energy initiatives.
This workshop is part of the ALSF’s ongoing efforts to support the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe by strengthening government officials’ capabilities to:
-
- Procure and negotiate Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects, particularly in renewable energy.
- Develop and finalize PPAs and related agreements.
- Prepare and launch tenders aligned with national laws, international standards, and best practices.

At Gesto, we are proud to contribute to initiatives that foster sustainable energy development and economic growth. Together, we can build a greener future!
