Maroc Geothermal Evaluation, start of the 2nd phase of the project

Gesto has finalized the first phase of the project of the evaluation of geothermal potential of northern east Morocco, performing the analysis and interpretation of the existent data. The results of this phase were presented to ONHYM in a meeting held in Rabat last month.

The second phase of the project started in the middle of September with the development of a geochemical campaign performed by Gesto. The campaign traversed more than 3.000 km and several Moroccan provinces, were a large number of water and gas samples were collected in the field on natural springs, boreholes and surface waters. The goal was to collect and analyze data such as temperature, pH, Conductivity, Eh and TDS.

The project will evaluated North Oriental area geothermal potential and is being developed by Gesto to the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines of Morocco (ONHYM).
