25 Sep Starting of Olkaria V Geothermal Power Plant civil works
Five months after the launch of the first stone of the Olkaria V geothermal power plant by the President of the Republic of Kenya, the construction of the largest geothermal project under development in Kenya – 158 MW power plant, representing an investment of 220 million Euros – is developing within the calendar of the project, with focus on the civil works such as the construction of both SGC and contractor’s site offices. Regarding the power plant several civil works have started such as the earthworks & site preparations, excavations for diversion drain, backfilling of existing gully, backfilling at store and workshop area, batch plant installation, etc. The project commissioning is expected before the end of 2019.
This is the largest project of Gesto currently under development.
