CONTEXT
Consistently with the continued economic growth and after 32 years of operation, KenGen intends to rehabilitate and revamp the geothermal power plant of Olkaria I (first geothermal power plant established in Kenya in 1980), since most of its equipment is no longer in production (obsolete) with difficulties on acquisition of spare parts.
OBJECTIVES
The overall objective of the “Olkaria I Geothermal Plant Rehabilitation” project is to undertake rehabilitation of the plant in order to enhance power output for another 25 years, improving efficiency.
DESCRIPTION
The Olkaria I Geothermal Plant development project includes the following activities:
- Concept design, technical specifications, Bid Document Preparation and PQ documents preparation;
- Assistance in Bidding, Pre-qualification & Bid evaluation, Contract negotiation and award processes Assist in the procurement of contractors;
- Project Implementation (Supervision of the construction and commissioning).
