Gesto starts Nepal Distribution System and Rural Electrification Master Plan

The kick-off meeting of the project “Distribution System and Rural Electrification Master Plan”, was held in Kathmandu, with the presence of the consulting team of Gesto and TMS, and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) high representatives including the Managing Director Mr.  Kul Man Ghising.

The objective of this project is to develop Nepal’s first distribution system and rural electrification master plan, helping NEA to bring reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity services to all households and businesses in Nepal until 2027. This project will be developed using the most appropriate, efficient and least cost on or off-grid technological solutions to optimize allocation of resources from the country’s perspective. The project will also provide a detailed roadmap with strong consensus from the different stakeholders and encompassing the necessary regulatory, institutional, technical and financial arrangements.
